This is a tiny little restaurant with portraits of some very famous people like Oprah that have dined there. The reason so many famous people eat here is that the food is good! Known for their fried chicken, great homemade desserts and hearty breakfast anytime of the day, including grits.

61 Grove Street between Bleecker Street and Seventh Avenue. 212-242-3699. This restaurant is always jammed and for good reason. Taka not only makes specialties like Mt. It's not your average Japanese Restaurant, it's much better.
