Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday January 6th 2005
"I hope you haven't been worried about me", Deanna said.
"Well, yes. I have been worried Deanna," Tiffany said as she paced the floor of her apartment telephone in hand. Her sister Starlene paced beside her hoping to hear every word of the conversation.
"I've been really busy. I feel really bad. Just when we've become like sisters I had to leave town," Deanna said.
"You left town?" Tiffany asked stopping to stand in front of the window of her Bleecker Street apartment as Starlene stood beside her.
"Yeah, I hope you haven't worried," Deanna said.
"Well, yes I have worried."
"I'm sorry. Can you forgive me Sis?" Deanna said.
"Of course," Tiffany said feeling sick that a stripper referred to her as a sister.
"I'm not used to having someone that cares where I am," Deanna said.
"Well, where are you Deanna?"
"I can't really go into all of that."
"Are you okay?"
"Ahh! How sweet you really do love me like a sister don't you?"
"Yeah," Tiffany lied.
"Well, I wish I could tell you but it would only put you in a position that would probably make you uncomfortable," Deanna said.
"Are you in trouble?"
"No, I'm fine. That's so nice of you. How's it going with looking for work?"
"I haven't found a job yet," Tiffany said as Starlene tapped her arm making motions to hurry up and question Deanna's location.
"Look I'm not at liberty to tell you everything. I wish I could. But you don't have to worry about anything."
"What do you mean Deanna?" Tiffany asked raising her eyebrows for Starlene's sake.
"I've got plenty of money."
"I'm glad you have plenty of money Deanna," Tiffany repeated so Starlene would know where the conversation was headed.
"I can trust you can't I Tiffany?"
"Of course you can trust me," Tiffany said as Starlene's hand flew up to her mouth in excitement.
"Well, if you run short on money, just go into my bedroom and look up in the top of the closet. There's a box with money in it," Deanna said.
"You have money in your closet?" Tiffany asked pretending not to already know.
"Yeah, it's a lot of money."
"Where did you get a lot of money?" Tiffany asked raising her eyebrows again.
"I can't say. Just don't say anything about it to anyone. Gee I gotta run. See you later," she said hanging up the phone.
Tiffany hung up the phone and stared at her sister.
"What? What did she say?"
"If I need money she has plenty," Tiffany said.
"Wow, let's take some," Starlene said grinning.
"Of course not. She wouldn't tell me where she got all that money."
"Then let's go in there and count it," Starlene said heading for the bedroom door.
"No, we still can't count it. She didn't tell me where she got it. She might want me to take some to frame me or something," Tiffany said.
"Let's check the caller ID! Maybe we can find out where she was," Starlene said rushing towards the little box.
