Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday January 3rd 2005
Tiffany placed her Diet Coke on the coffee table of her Bleecker Street apartment and picked up the ringing telephone. "Hello" she answered.
"Hi Tiffany," Starlene said.
"Oh Hi Starlene. What's going on with you?"
"I've been snooping through Stanley's office today while he's at work," Starlene said.
"Why?"
"Well, it bothers me that he is buying a townhouse in Georgetown. Now he says he has to go there this month for a few business meetings. I don't like it Tiffany."
"What do you think he's doing? What kind of business meetings?"
"He says its real estate stuff."
"Well, maybe it is."
"I just don't like it. You know we spent New Year's Eve at home since I was still angry over him making reservations in DC for Christmas without consulting with me first."
"How was New Years Eve?"
"He got a phone call about the time that Regis was announcing the ball drop," Starlene said.
"Oh! Who was it?"
"He got real quiet and just said 'me too, happy New Year.'"
"I can see why you're worried."
"I have to know if he's up to something," Starlene said adamantly. "What about you?"
"Well, Skeeter came over and brought a bottle of cheap champagne."
"That sounds nice."
"He wanted to go out but I was afraid to leave the apartment," Tiffany said.
"Why?"
"The money Starlene! All that money that we found in Deanna's bedroom," she said referring to her roommate the stripper. "Now I feel stuck here guarding her money that she doesn't even know that I know about," Tiffany said.
"That sucks."
"Yes it does."
"Did you see her over New Year's?"
"No. The club where she dances called and said to tell her she didn't have to work until January 15th. They're closed for renovations."
"So where is she?"
"I don't know. I haven't heard one word from her."
"What about Vinny?"
"Skeeter said that Vinny is around. So Deanna didn't go off with him."
"Do you think somebody killed her?"
"Oh no! I hadn't thought of that Starlene! What if somebody did kill her and all that money is in my apartment?"
"Did you count the money?"
"NO! I don't want my fingerprints on that money. What if she stole it or something?"
"I'm coming over there and we're going to finish the job Tiffany."
"What do you mean Starlene?"
"We're going to go through everything until we find out where she got that money."
"I don't know Starlene..." Tiffany said.
"See you soon, bye", Starlene said hanging up the phone.
