Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday December 14th 2004
"Morgan residence", Starlene answered as she leaned back on the plush sofa of her husband's Upper East Side mansion.
"Hi Starlene. Are you busy?" Tiffany asked.
"No, Stanley is out to dinner with Jan tonight," she said referring to her older husband's grown daughter.
"You weren't invited?"
"Of course he wanted me to come. I'd rather do anything else than be around her."
"Well, guess what happened with Deanna?" Tiffany said referring to her roommate the stripper.
"What? Did you ask her to move out?"
"No. I never got a chance."
"She comes home saying that the strange guy that had been calling her was at the door when she left work tonight."
"Really? Who is he?"
"She wouldn't say," Tiffany said.
"So, did you mention that you wanted her to leave?"
"No. She acted really mysterious about this guy. She wouldn't tell me what he said or tell me who he is. But get this... she says she's fixed as far as money goes now."
"Fixed? What does that mean?"
"I'm not sure. But she says that she doesn't want me to worry because I don't have a job. She says she'll pay all of the rent now," Tiffany said as she heard the music come on in Skeeter's apartment next door.
"Wow, that's nice," Starlene said. "I guess it's hard to throw a roommate out when she's willing to pay the whole rent."
"But then she went next door to see Vinny."
"I don't like that. I wish she'd leave Vinny alone. I just can't help but be jealous of him," Starlene said thinking about her short love affair with the Mafia guy.
"Think how I feel Starlene. She's over there with Skeeter. I heard Skeeter when he answered the door. He said he knew "it was boring over here," Tiffany said referring to her apartment.
"Go over there Tiffany," Starlene said.
"You think I should?"
"Yes. I would definitely go over there. Do you know for a fact that Vinny is home?"
"No... I don't actually," Tiffany said recalling the short conversation at the door.
"Then go over there."
"My hair is a mess and I don't feel like being around her. But I really don't like her being over there with Skeeter."
"You have to find out if Vinny is over there."
"I don't know how other than going over there."
"I'll call Vinny's cell phone and see where he is," Starlene offered.
"Starlene I don't want to get you into trouble with Stanley."
"Stanley's at dinner. He'll never know."
"Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Yeah. I'll call him now and call you right back," she said hanging up the phone.
Tiffany heard the music being turned up in the apartment next door just before she heard Deanna laugh loudly.
