Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday November 10th 2004
"Man I ain't ever seen your old lady that mad," Vinny said as Skeeter closed the door to his Bleecker Street apartment.
"Yeah, she's all po'd over nothing", Skeeter said.
"Look man. Not for nothing, but this Deanna... that might be something a woman would get mad over," Mafia Vinny said taking a seat in a nearby chair as Skeeter sat down on the sofa.
"You think so?"
"Yeah, man. I mean she's a topless dancer. You rented the bedroom in Tiffany's apartment to her while Tiffany was in Georgia with her sister," Vinny said in his thick Brooklyn accent.
"I was doing her a favor. Tiffany couldn't pay the rent because she's laid off," Skeeter said defensively.
"Why don't you just pay the rent for Tiffany?"
"You think that's what I should have done?"
"Maybe. I mean if you really love her."
"I do love her. I just don't want to end up married."
"I guess since you was married to her once before you ain't ready to take the big step again," Vinny said trying to understand.
"That's right. I just got my divorce from Jan," he said referring to his wealthy former wife.
"You ever see her anymore?"
"No, not really. It's just as well too," Skeeter said.
"Yeah, she don't seem like your type at all," Vinny said thinking about the well-known socialite.
"No she wasn't my type. She was just well off and it happened."
"I wish the right one would come along for me," Vinny said. "I thought Starlene was going to be the one, but that doesn't seem likely now."
"No. I think you might as well give up on her. She's really happy. Although with a husband as old as Stanley maybe you could get her to fool around some," Skeeter suggested.
"I don't want her that way. I wanted to marry her."
"Yeah, I know."
"Seems like all the good ones get away. Looks like I'm always a little too late."
"I don't know." Skeeter said.
"I mean look at you and Deanna. You had your way with her before I even met her," Vinny said.
"Yeah," Skeeter mumbled before picking up his beer and taking a long sip.
"She's a looker too. I'd love to take her to Little Italy and show her off," Vinny said thinking about her double D's.
"Well, ask her then."
"What about the two of you?"
"I've got Tiffany," Skeeter said.
"Yeah, but you were with Deanna and I don't want to bother with your women. I mean you and me are roommates."
"I'm saying you can go for it man."
"Yeah, if you want to go out with Deanna then go for it," Skeeter said.
"You wouldn't be jealous?"
"Why would I be jealous?"
"Cause you and her did it," Vinny said.
"Well…" Skeeter stuttered avoiding the issue.
