Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday May 24th 2004
"Tiffany it's me. Are you home?" Starlene called out as she slammed the door to her sister's apartment overlooking Bleecker Street.
"Hi," Tiffany said walking into the living room dressed in jeans and a tight T-shirt.
"Boy that dinner meeting was better than I ever thought it could be," Starlene said walking to the sofa and taking a seat.
"What happened?" Tiffany asked taking a seat on the sofa beside her.
"Well, it turns out there is a new cable TV show that this guy George is thinking about producing," Starlene said as she took off her high heel sandals.
"Oh. So Marco isn't producing the new show then?" Tiffany asked referring to the neighbor that Starlene had met. The two had quickly started a romance before she found out he was married. He told her he'd help her get into television and quickly turned up the rhetoric when Starlene found out he was married.
"No, it's the guy named George," Starlene said remembering how George had kept his eyes on her low cut dress all during dinner tonight.
"So is there a job for you or not?" Tiffany asked still holding a grudge that Marco had deceived her younger sister.
"I think so!" Starlene said leaning back on the sofa.
"Well it's either yes or no. Don't let this guy string you along Starlene."
"Well, I think there is a job but it's not up to Marco, it's up to George."
"Who is George?"
"He's one of the producers."
"I forgot to ask," Starlene said looking worried and perplexed.
"I don't know about all of this Starlene," Tiffany said through narrowed eyes.
"Oh I believe him. Why else would he tell me about it if it weren't true?"
"Because Marco lied to you about being married," Tiffany said frowning.
"That doesn't mean he's lying about this."
"I don't know Starlene. You should know that you can't trust Marco."
"Oh stop being so negative," Starlene said. "Guess what the name of the show is going to be?"
"What?" Tiffany said unable to stop frowning when she thought about Marco and how he'd lied to Starlene to get her to go out with him.
"Blonde World!" she said smiling broadly. "And I'd be the hostess!"
"Oh Starlene that does sound like fun," Tiffany admitted.
"I'd interview other blondes. It would be for blondes only," Starlene said grinning.
"What a fun idea. Well, hopefully this will happen and Marco won't be involved. It won't work out if you have to see Marco to keep your job," Tiffany said shaking her head.
"Don't worry. I'm no fool. Why do you think he's getting me hooked up with the producer like this?"
"Because I told him that there wasn't any reason for me not to go upstairs and knock on his door when his wife's in town and just tell her what kind of guy she's married to," Starlene said obviously proud of herself.
"You didn't say that?" Tiffany said shocked by her sister's words.
"Of course I did. How do you think I made him come up with a job for me?"
"Starlene you could get killed doing stuff like that."
"He cost me my wedding to Stanley. If I hadn't been with him then Stanley's friend wouldn't have seen me with Marco and I would be planning my wedding now. He messed with the wrong woman," Starlene said frowning.
