Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday May 10th 2004
"Starlene is that you?" Tiffany asked when she heard the front door of her apartment open.
"Yeah, it's me," Starlene yelled out as she placed her purse on the table beside the door then locked it. She walked into the living room and took a seat on the sofa. She kicked off her high heels and put her feet up on the coffee table.
"Hi Starlene, how did the shopping go?" Tiffany asked walking into the living room and taking a seat on the sofa beside her sister.
"I found two or three wedding gowns that I really like. I just don't know which one I want yet. The saleswoman confused me."
"One of the gowns was cut really low and it really shows off my cleavage. She said that girls that were less endowed usually choose this gown."
"So?" Tiffany said glancing at her sister's voluptuous bosom in the low cut tight sweater she was wearing.
"So, I can't see why they would want to wear it if they haven't got anything to show. I think it looked good on me. Maybe you should go with me next trip."
"I could do that," Tiffany said smiling.
"Did anyone call while I was gone?"
"Nope. Amir called me and we talked for a while," Tiffany said referring to her wealthy lover.
"Oh really? So are you going to see him again?"
"Yeah, I'm having dinner with him tonight."
"At his house. He wanted to come over here but you know I can't do that with Skeeter living next door," Tiffany said referring to her ex-husband. They had recently renewed their romance.
"So this is the big night isn't it Tiffany?" Starlene said rolling her eyes to infer romance.
"No I don't think so Starlene," Tiffany said as a solemn expression came over her pretty face.
"What are you talking about?"
"I think I'm going to tell him the truth about me and Skeeter," she said before biting her lip.
"Are you sure? I mean are you that sure that you and Skeeter are going to make it?" Starlene asked referring to the fact that Skeeter wasn't divorced from Jan yet.
"I can't expect Skeeter to be honest with me if I'm not completely honest with him."
"Have you told Skeeter this?"
"No. You know Skeeter Starlene. If I told him that I had seen Amir a few nights ago he'd hit the ceiling. He would never tolerate another man between us," she said remembering his possessive ways.
"I know. But don't you think this is risky? I mean what if it doesn't work out with you and Skeeter?"
"I have to be honest. If I'm not then I can't expect it to work."
"But what if he doesn't divorce Jan and then you've lost Amir?"
"I just have to try. I don't know what else to do."
"But Tiffany. Amir has a lot of money and Skeeter just owns a lingerie store on Bleecker Street."
"It's not just the money you know," Tiffany said.
"Skeeter's that good huh?" Starlene said grinning.
"Oh Starlene it's more than that. Skeeter and I have a long history together. I've always loved him and if he's really turning over a new leaf and he's going to be faithful to me, then I would always regret not trying and giving him this chance," she said thoughtfully.
"A new leaf? I guess we'll see," Starlene said wondering if Skeeter could ever settle down with one woman.
"Besides Starlene, I'm not happy with the implications that Amir might be tied to some unscrupulous groups," she referring to the ongoing investigation into Amir's foreign connections.
