"As we graze it grows"

6 cups blackberries, or use half raspberries or strawberries
1 cup granulated sugar
3 tablespoons all purpose flour
Grated rind of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons sugar mixed with 1/4 teaspoon grated nutmeg

2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
Pinch of salt
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter, melted

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, combine the blackberries, sugar, flour and lemon rind.  Stir gently to blend. Transfer to a 2 quart baking dish.  For the topping, sift the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a large bowl. In a large cup, combine the milk and butter.  Gradually stir the milk mixture into the dry ingredients, and stir until the batter is just smooth. Spoon the batter over the berries, spreading to the edges. Sprinkle the surface with sugar and nutmeg mixture.  Bake until the batter topping is set and lightly browned, about 50 minutes. Serve hot. Serves 8.
