"As we graze it grows"

Juice of 1 lemon
3 tablespoons chopped fresh fennel herb, or the green tops from the top of the fennel bulb
1 teaspoon fennel seeds
3 tablespoons olive oil
4 salmon steaks of the same thickness, about 1 1/2 lb. total
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Lemon wedges, to garnish

Combine the lemon juice, chopped fennel and fennel seeds with the olive oil in a bowl.  Add the salmon steaks, turning them to coat with the marinade.  Sprinkle with salt and pepper.  Cover and place in the refrigerator. Allow to stand for 2 hours.  Preheat the broiler.  Arrange the fish in a layer on a broiling pan or cookie sheet.  Broil about  4 inches from the heat source for 3 to 4 minutes.  Turn.  Spoon on the remaining marinade and broil for 3 to 4 minutes on the other side, or until the edges begin to brown.  Serve hot garnished with lemon wedges. Serves 4.
