Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday December 5th 2003
"What did Clark say?"  Starlene asked as Tiffany hung up the telephone and tossed it angrily onto the table next to the window.
"He had the nerve to ask me to go downstairs to Skeeter's new lingerie store and get interviewed on TV," Tiffany said pointing to the sidewalk below and the TV crews rushing around.
"You have got to be kidding me," Starlene said watching the young girls walking into the new lingerie store "Next to Nothing."
"No, I do believe that Clark will do anything for publicity for Manhattan Party Planning," she said referring to the party planning business where they worked together.
"That's horrible!  I can't believe he would stoop so low," Starlene said leaning closer to the window to see the activities on the sidewalk below.
"You're one to talk Starlene," Tiffany said thinking about the interview Starlene had done with her ex-husband Skeeter.
"Oh look Tiffany. If it hadn't been for those pictures I posed for Skeeter's store I never would have been featured in Playbody this month."
"Yeah, but you stopping by the store this morning and being interviewed helped him too."
"Stop it.  What's done is done. I want Playbody to sell a lot of issues with my picture in it so maybe I'll get offered a job as a movie star," Starlene said.
"Great, so my sister and my boss will do anything to promote themselves," Tiffany said walking back to the sofa and taking a seat as the TV blared in front of her.
"Oh come here and look!" Starlene said turning to motion for Tiffany to hurry back to the window.
Tiffany quickly came to her feet and rushed back towards the window to look down at Bleecker Street below.
"Well I'll be.  I just don't believe it," Tiffany muttered as she watched.
"Clark will do anything... won't he," Starlene said as they watched Clark's wife Nicole dressed in a full length white mink as she walked into Skeeter's new lingerie store "Next to Nothing."
They immediately turned their attention to the TV screen when they heard the announcer's voice. "And it looks like we have another new customer," the TV reporter said as the cameraman quickly panned Nicole.
"Hi. I'm Nicole Masters," she said brushing her dark hair onto the collar of the white mink coat.
"Nicole, what brings you to this store?" the reporter asked all starry eyed.
"I live and work in the Village."
"Where do you work Nicole?" the reporter asked as she took off her mink and tossed it onto a nearby chair.  The camera quickly zoomed in on the tight leather skirt she was wearing that barely covered her shapely thighs.
"Manhattan Party Planning," she said taking a hanger from a rack with leopard print thongs to hold up next to her body as if to check the size.
"So you're in the party planning business? I bet everybody wants to party with you. Don't they?" the reporter asked as Skeeter walked towards the front of the store smiling at Nicole.
"Let me introduce you to Skeeter Diamond the owner of "Next to Nothing," the reporter said touching Nicole on the arm.
"Skeeter and I have known each other a long time," Nicole said smiling as he joined her on camera.
"Skeeter if you're looking for another model I think Nicole would be great," the reporter said watching the chemistry between the two of them.
"I'd love to model for Skeeter and if the editors of Playbody are watching... I'm available," she said smiling broadly.
"They are watching Nicole. I just talked with several of them on the phone," Skeeter said in his slow southern accent grinning at Nicole.
"It looks like "Next to Nothing" might be the new casting agency for Playbody," the reporter said as the camera followed Nicole and Skeeter as they sat down on the red velvet sofa where Starlene had posed for the centerfold.
"I hate her," Starlene said grabbing her coat from the sofa and rushing towards the front door.
