Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Tuesday July 8th 2003
"I've been dreamin' 'bout this for a long time," Vinny whispered as he looked down into Starlene's eyes and her long blonde hair draped over the arm of the sofa.
"I never forgot that evening in the limo with you Vinny," she said referring to the evening he had escorted her home in the limo. That was another one of the nights she had been angry with her older lover Stanley. She and Vinny had almost started a serious relationship that evening in the back of the limo.
"We ain't waitin' anymore Starlene. Tonight we start livin'," he said as he continued to kiss the soft skin on her neck.
The phone rang on the coffee table.
"I better get that," Starlene said breathlessly.
"Let it ring honey, I don't want nothing stoppin' us now," he said eager to finally consummate their relationship.
"Oh Vinny," she whispered.
"Starlene honey," he moaned.
The answering machine quickly picked up the telephone and the recording started, "Hi this is Starlene. Tiffany and I are busy or out at the moment. Leave a message and we'll return your call," Starlene's recording announced followed by several beeping noises that were barely audible over the sounds of Vinny's increased passion.
After the third beeping noise a familiar voice spoke into the answering machine, "Starlene this is Stanley. Please pick up the phone honey. I want to talk to you," Stanley said pausing.
"Don't listen to that," Vinny whispered breathlessly pressing forward more forcefully hoping she wouldn't be distracted by the answering machine.
"Starlene, I don't want you seeing other men honey. I know I've been dragging my feet a little. I promise you though... I haven't been with Nicole," Stanley said pausing again waiting for her to pick up the phone.
"Oh Starlene," Vinny moaned a little louder hoping to distract her attention from the recording.
Stanley continued speaking into the answering machine, "Nicole's lying Starlene. What do you expect from the daughter of a mob boss? She's nothing but trouble Starlene. Her and her whole family are just pure evil," Stanley said. "Honey, we'll get married. I promised you and we will, just give me a little more time honey," Stanley said pacing the floor of his Upper East Side mansion as he talked into the answering machine. "Look honey, I'm coming over there. I have to talk to you. I'll get your doorman to let me in, so if you aren't there, stay there when you get back. I've canceled my trip to Washington tonight Starlene. I've got to talk to you honey. I'll see you soon," Stanley said hanging up the phone. The sound of the tape rewinding could be barely be heard over Vinny's passionate moans "Starlene, come on Starlene honey."
"Vinny," Starlene whispered pushing his shoulders away as the answering machine made a final clicking noise.
"Starlene, I love you," Vinny said breathlessly.
"Vinny did you hear the answering machine?"
"Some of it honey. I've got my attention on more important things here," he said sitting up on the sofa and noticing the worried look in her eyes.
"Vinny, Stanley is coming over here," she said reaching for her glass of wine and taking a sip.
"Don't worry about it honey. I'll take care of him," Vinny said wiping the perspiration from his forehead as he glanced at her curvy figure.
"No. I don't want you to Vinny."
"What do you want honey?"
"I think you better leave Vinny."
"Leave? Just like that? After this here?" he said glancing at her voluptuous bosom.
