Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday June 26th 2003
Starlene grinned at the guys whistling at her as she walked towards the townhouse.  She noticed the long white limo parked at the gate near the entrance to the MacDougal Mews where her sister Tiffany worked. She thought perhaps the handsome theater owner Brandon Douglas had stopped by to see her sister.
"Hey Starlene," she heard a man's voice say as she started to open the gate to the Mews. She turned to see a big burly fellow climbing out of the back of a limo. "Don't you remember me?" he said shielding his eyes from the bright sunshine.
"Oh yeah.  Hi Vinny," Starlene said pausing as Vinny walked towards her.
"What are you doing in New York?" she said wondering why Nicole's father, the Florida mob boss had sent him to NYC.
"I came to help Nicki out," Vinny said referring to Clark's wife.
"Oh.  I heard she's leaving Clark," Starlene said referring to Tiffany's boss.
"That's right.  She's outta there," Vinny said admiring Starlene's voluptuous bosom in the low cut summer sweater she was wearing.
"That's really too bad.  She and Clark haven't been married very long."
"I guess it's long enough though. So how have you been Starlene?"
"Good."
"You still seeing that old man... Stanley Morgan?"
"Yeah. I'm still with Stanley."
"I'm sorry to hear that.  You know I liked you a lot.  I think that you and me's could have had something goin'," he said referring to the time he escorted her back to her apartment in his limo and got to first base with her.
"Yeah, I guess," she said feeling her face reddening as she remembered the steamy evening they had spent when she was angry with Stanley.
"Wanna go somewheres and get a drink or a bite to eat?" he said motioning towards his limo.
"No, thanks.  I was just on my way in to see if my sister Tiffany could go to lunch with me."
"I wouldn't go in there now if I was yous," he said as the sun glistened on the gold chains around his neck.
"Why?"
"It probably ain't a pretty sight right now."
"What's wrong?" Starlene said as her face took on a look of concern.
"Just some matrimonial difficulties, I'd say."
"Clark and Nicole?"
"Yeah, she's gettin' some things there and I'm going to take her to the airport."
"Oh, she's really leaving him?"
"Yeah, I'd say that."
"Where's she going, back to Florida?"
"I can't say.  Nicole don't want me tellin' anybody right now. She's worried about trouble."
"What kind of trouble?"
"Like you know her father gettin' upset or something like that."
"You know Vinny I thought that Nicole's father liked Clark."
"It was an okay relationship, I guess.  I mean Clark did her father's parties and stuff.  But Clark he don't know much about business, if you know what I mean."
"You mean he's not a good businessman and that's why they are divorcing?"
"No.  It ain't got nothing to do with Clark's party business. It's got to do with her Father's business. You see Clark ain't fitted in too good and Nicole was always bitchin'."
"Oh, I see.  So she, is she leaving him for another man?  Someone that maybe I know?" Starlene asked thinking Nicole was leaving Clark for her sister Tiffany's ex-husband Skeeter. The sun shone in her eyes causing them to water. She wiped a tear from her cheek and frowned from the glare of the sun.  She sniffled as she glanced up at him awaiting his answer.
"That Stanley he's hurt you. I see it there. The nerve of that old man still seein' Nicole and break the heart of a pretty young thing like you," he said reaching for her.
