Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Friday December 6th 2002
"You have to call Tiffany and tell her you
unfired her Clark," Nicole said worried. Nicole was at Tiffany's estranged husband Skeeter's apartment when Clark fired her.  Tiffany called Skeeter's apartment angry over his recent engagement to Jan Morgan.  Nicole listened to their entire conversation when Skeeter let his new answering machine pick up and couldn't figure out how to turn it off.  Nicole heard Tiffany tell Skeeter that Clark had fired her. The most worrisome thing Nicole overheard was that Tiffany was so angry that she had decided to tell Clark about Nicole's secret affair with the young neighbor Greg.
"This is crazy Nicki. You've done nothing but complain about Tiffany since we got married."
"That's not true," she lied.
"Oh it is honey. Remember every time we went upstairs to make love during the day you thought that she was listening? Remember honey?" he said referring to the many rejections she's made to his advances lately.
"You call her back Clark." Nicole said. She turned and glanced out of the window to see her secret lover Greg walking past on the sidewalk in front of the townhouse. She saw him smile and lift his hand to wave when he saw her through the window.  When he noticed Clark in the background of the living room his smiled faded and he quickly picked up his step.
"Who is that guy Nicole?  I've seen him peering in the window several times since I came home from Florida," Clark said walking towards the window to get a better look at the handsome young neighbor.
"How would I know?" she asked looking in the other direction as if she hadn't noticed.
"It looked like he was going to wave at you or something," Clark said getting closer to the window and watching as Greg stood at the curb trying to hail a cab.  He watched as the young man turned and glanced back towards the townhouse again.
"You're imagining stuff Clark," Nicole said turning to see Greg's attempts to get a cab.
"Well, you never know these days with snipers and stalkers.  I don't like the looks of that guy.  He might be foreign too," Clark said as his eyes narrowed.
"Quit stalling and call Tiffany and rehire her Clark," she said desperate to change the subject.
"Why don't we just try it without her for a while Nicole," Clark said as he saw Greg get into a cab and leave. He turned to walk towards Nicole noticing that she was watching Greg's cab pull away.
"No.  I mean it Clark.  I don't want to do her job. I'm not going to be a secretary here."
"It would be fun honey. Just think we could go upstairs and make love everyday and not worry about Tiffany listening to us," he said walking towards her and putting his arm around her.
"Is that all you think about?" she said pushing him away.
"We're never going to have a family if I don't," he said smiling as he watched her walk towards Tiffany's desk.
"I told you I don't want a family. I don't want to be a Mother.  I don't want to be your secretary either.  You call Tiffany and get her to come back to work, or maybe I won't be your wife either!" she said picking up the phone and holding it towards him.
"But I don't know if she will, she's really mad at me," he said honestly.
