Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Monday June 17th 2002
"Nicole, you have problem?" a dark haired man asked in a heavy Italian accent as he walked up behind the two women standing in the doorway of the Oak Room of the Plaza Hotel.
"This is Starlene. We work together," Nicole said to her Father's handsome business associate.
"She join us for drink?" the handsome Italian asked as his eyes quickly feasted on Starlene's voluptuous bosom in the low cut, short dress she was wearing.
"I don't know… she was…" Nicole stammered wondering how much of the heated conversation he had overheard between the two women.
"She answer for herself, no?" he asked smiling as he glanced towards Starlene.
"Well, I don't know…" Starlene said hesitantly.
"You come," he said taking Starlene by the arm and leading her towards the back of the bar as Nicole followed them.
"Waiter bring bottle of most expensive wine to this table. We have most important guest," the man said pulling out the chair for Starlene to take a seat beside him at their table.
"Well, I can only stay a minute," Starlene said in her thick southern accent surprised by the sudden turn of events.
"My name, Megollo," he said taking her hand and bringing it quickly to his lips.
"My name is Starlene, pleased to meet you," she said as he gently squeezed her hand.
"This accent I never hear," he said glancing at her bosom as he released her hand.
"I'm from Georgia."
"Georgia, this city I never see."
"It's a state."
"I hope one day I see this state if all womans are so beautiful as you," he said smiling as the waiter poured a glass of wine for Starlene and refilled the other glasses on the table.
"Starlene is getting married to the man I used to work for, Stanley Morgan," Nicole said tiring of Megollo's lustful devotion to her enemy.
"I regret to hear this tragedy. When is wedding? I hope you reconsider," he said smiling as he watched Starlene nervously take a sip of her wine.
"I don't know yet," Starlene said placing her wineglass on the table.
"Stanley's paying for the engagement party Clark and I are having here at the Plaza."
"Yes. I hear of this plan from your Father," Megollo said glancing towards Nicole.
"Yes that was very generous of my Stanley, especially since we haven't even set the date for our wedding yet," Starlene said giving Nicole a harsh glance.
"Then there is still time," Megollo said.
"Time?" Starlene asked.
"To us," Megollo said raising his wineglass.
"I…I…" Starlene muttered.
"To Starlene," he said nodding for her to raise her glass. Pleased when he saw her raise her glass he continued, "To State of Georgia where most beautiful woman ever come to me from," he said touching his glass to hers.
"Megollo, I told you Starlene wants to marry Stanley."
"This Stanley…he is generous with his money. He is foolish with his womans. I never let woman like Starlene wait. Never she wait for me," he said picking up the bottle and quickly refilling their glasses.
