Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Thursday April 18th 2002
"Is that you Tiffany?"  Starlene called out from the kitchen of their apartment overlooking Washington Square Park.
"Yeah, it's me," Tiffany said slamming the heavy metal door and walking towards the living room.
"Hi. How was your day?" Starlene asked walking into the living room as she watched Tiffany take a seat on the sofa.
"Horrible.  All my days are horrible lately.  Did you hear the news?"
"What is it?  Amir?" Starlene asked walking to the sofa and taking a seat beside Tiffany.
"No. Skeeter he's out of jail."
"No. I didn't hear that. Stanley came over today but we didn't watch TV or anything," she said pulling her T-shirt down to cover her freshly showered young body.  "So you're this upset over Skeeter?"
"No. It's Nicole.  She came in this morning laughing about me being all over the news with this disaster. I made the comment it wasn't funny and she ran up the stairs to her office saying I didn't have to snap at her."
"Don't pay any attention to that little floozy."
"Yeah. But Clark pays attention. He practically ran up the stairs after her."
"Do you think they're doing it?"
"I don't know. He sure does like her. Just when I was starting to think he was gay," Tiffany said clearly disappointed.
"She'd do it with him even if he was gay."
"Well, I've changed my mind. I think he isn't gay. I think he does have a thing for her."
"She'll move on to another man sooner or later.  Don't let her get you down."
"That's not what's bothering me Starlene.  It's Skeeter getting out of jail.  I heard it today on the radio."
"Let's see maybe it's on TV," Starlene said picking up the remote to the TV and turning it on to the local news channel.
"The Sharpton for President committee said today," the reporter said as he finished a local report from City Hall. 
"Look! There's Skeeter!" Starlene said turning up the volume.
"Here you see Mr. Skeeter Diamond leaving his downtown jail cell today.  Mr. Diamond is the jilted husband that is alleged to have attacked the billionaire celebrity builder Amir Hada in front of Tiffany Diamond's apartment building a few days ago.  We tried to get an interview with Mr. Diamond but his attorneys said he had 'no comment at this time since the investigation is ongoing,'" the reporter said.
"Do you have any word on who posted bail for Mr. Diamond?" a reporter in the studio asked as the TV screen showed Skeeter waving towards the camera before getting into a cab with his attorney.
"Yes.  Reliable sources tell us that Mr. Diamond's bail was posted by a young woman whose Father is a well known crime boss from Florida."
"Do you have her name?"
"No that's all the information we have at this time.  We'll get back with more on this story later.  And now a check of NYC's weather," the reporter said. 
"That's it!  Nicole posted bail for Skeeter," Tiffany said jumping up from the sofa.  "Well, known crime boss!  Oh my God Starlene did you hear that?" she asked turning to see a stunned look on her young sister's face.
"Yes and her Father's still mad at my Stanley."
"And Skeeter's been messing around with her all of this time and I have to work with her everyday," Tiffany said starting to pace the living room floor.
"I wonder if Clark heard that Nicole's Father is a crime boss." Starlene said.
"What difference would that make?"
"Clark might think twice about being so cuddly with her if he knew," Starlene said.
"Yeah.  Maybe he'd even fire her," Tiffany said.
"Or maybe he couldn't fire her," Starlene said.
"That's right. Maybe that's why Stanley couldn't fire her and sent her to work for Clark," Tiffany said immediately wishing she hadn't voiced her thoughts when she saw the sad look on Starlene's face.
