Soap Opera "As The Mouse Moves" - Wednesday January 9th 2002
"I just stopped by to say hi," Starlene said walking into the lobby of the townhouse where Tiffany worked near Washington Square Park.
"You shopping today?" Tiffany asked glancing up as she watched her sister take off her coat and throw it over the chair.
"Meeting Stanley for lunch downtown," Starlene said glancing at the full-length mink on the back of the sofa. "Is that snake here too?" she asked recognizing Jan's mink coat thrown on the sofa nearby.
"Yeah, she's upstairs with Clark and Nicole," Tiffany said watching her sister's face for a reaction.
"Nicole's here too?"
"Oh God. Did she ask about me or anything?"
"No. Not a word."
"I guess he hasn't called her yet," she said referring to Nicole's former boyfriend Vinny that she had met for dinner last night in Little Italy.
"Starlene if he tells her that you told him, you're in trouble," Tiffany said in a hushed voice.
"How can you be so sure?"
"Cause he doesn't want to make me mad."
"Why would he care if he makes you mad or not?"
"Cause he would like to get it on with me," Starlene said taking a seat near Tiffany's desk, her short skirt rising up on her thighs as she sat down.
"Yeah, but you've got Stanley."
"He knows that. He's the kind of man that doesn't care if I was married or living with someone though."
"But he doesn't want Nicole seeing anyone else?"
"Typical isn't it." Starlene said.
"Well, I hope you're right Starlene. I just wish you hadn't mentioned that she likes Amir though."
"He won't say anything to Amir, Tiffany. I promise he won't."
"Good, because I trust Amir," she said hoping she was right about her lover.
"Well, look whose here," Nicole said walking down the stairs and peering over the railing into the living room.
"Hi Nicole," Starlene said avoiding the young girl's eyes.
"What are you doing here?" Nicole asked walking into the living room.
"I just stopped by. I'm meeting Stanley for lunch."
"He didn't mention that to me," Nicole said walking towards the kitchen to get herself another cup of coffee.
"I guess he doesn't have to clear his personal life with his secretary," Starlene said.
"Assistant... I'm Stan's assistant," Nicole said.
"Whatever," Starlene said distracted as she listened to her sister Tiffany answer the phone at her desk.
"Nicole, it's for you," Tiffany said touching the hold button on the phone.
"Who is it?" Nicole asked walking back into the living room carrying her cup of hot coffee.
"May I ask who's calling please," Tiffany asked then touched the hold button again.
"Vinny," Tiffany said her heart starting to race.
"Vinny, I wonder how he could have known that I'd be here?" she said putting her cup on Tiffany's desk and walking towards the phone.
