New York City Playwright

BILL McMAHON (Playwright) is the author of COVER, which was presented by Broadway producer Jim Kierstead and the Midtown International Theater Festival in July of 2014.  “Bill McMahon’s script is disarmingly complex... This is not a love story but a story about love. Who we love, why we love, how we love, when we love and the puzzling consequences love can inflict on the participants...” - David Roberts and Joseph Verlezza, Theatre Reviews Limited.  COVER is currently in development for an Off-Broadway production. Bill was also the winner of the Paul Green Playwrights Prize for his full-length play A WINTER BEAUTY, produced by Emerging Artists Theatre to several glowing reviews. Irene Backaleneck of Backstage: "His ability to create rich, believable characters and sharp, funny dialogue makes for a very special play...a strong new Off-Broadway voice."  Music and Theatre Legacy Foundation recently produced SHADES OF TIME, a staged reading of his one acts THE NEW BLACK and MOTHER OF THE GROOM at The Players in New York City. Other plays include RANDOM, which was named a finalist for the Mildred and Albert Panowski Playwriting Award.  Bill is also the author of both the play and screenplay versions of WORLD OF TOMORROW, about the struggle between Robert Moses and Jane Jacobs, and his first television pilot, RENT CONTROLLED, currently in development with Kierstead Productions.
